FIX A MISS · FAST DIAGNOSIS

Name the miss. Change one thing.

The fastest way out of a restart loop is to describe exactly where you landed. Use the symptom before blaming the obstacle or chasing more Speed.

You overshoot the landingThe movement input lasts too long for your current Speed.Approach straight, use a shorter input, and release before the landing edge.
You land shortYou may be taking off too early, changing direction, or lacking distance.Align first. If a clean straight attempt still lands short, inspect current Ninja options.
You miss sidewaysThe camera and movement direction are not aligned.Center the landing on screen, then make one forward input instead of steering throughout the jump.
You fall after landingYou immediately turn or keep moving on a small platform.Release movement and let the avatar settle before the next setup.
A faster Ninja feels worseYour old input duration now travels farther.Return to an easy section and recalibrate. Do not stack another Speed change yet.
You rush after another playerYou are copying their timing instead of reading your own Speed and angle.Use other players as route previews, not as movement metronomes.
You repeat the same missToo many variables change between attempts.Keep camera and line fixed; change only input length, then compare the result.
DISTANCE

I land short.

You see: a straight attempt ends before the landing.

Likely cause: the takeoff line, input duration, or current distance is limiting the clear.

Change one thing: center the line first. If a clean repeat is still short, inspect the Ninja options available to you.

CONTROL

I overshoot.

You see: the avatar crosses the landing or slides off the far side.

Likely cause: the movement input lasts too long for the current Speed.

Change one thing: release earlier and keep the same camera angle for the next comparison.

ALIGNMENT

I miss sideways.

You see: enough distance, but the avatar passes left or right of the landing.

Likely cause: camera and movement direction are not aligned.

Change one thing: center the landing before moving and remove midair steering from the next attempt.

The three-attempt reset

  1. Attempt one: observe.

Do not correct wildly. Notice whether the miss is short, long, or sideways.

  2. Attempt two: change one variable.

Adjust only input duration, camera angle, or takeoff line—not all three.

  3. Attempt three: confirm.

Repeat the improved setup. If the same miss returns, move to the next variable.

What not to assume

The official listing does not explain checkpoint placement or failure penalties. This page therefore avoids statements like “you always return to the last checkpoint.” Describe the actual restart behavior you see, then adapt your risk level.
